The Educational Program of the Cascabel Hermitage Association sponsored a Solar Food Drying Workshop at 2018 Los Reales in Tucson on May 5, 2001. David Omick and Pearl Mast presented the Workshop, at which the nine participants each constructed a simple solar food dryer to take home. They also prepared, dried, and sampled a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. The response was enthusiastic. Below: Participants prepare fruits and vegetables for solar drying.
